It's time for true democracy in this country! The only viable option for the 2015 federal election is to vote independent. Enough cynicism, lets stop voting to block the party we don’t want in power! A reform of our democratic institutions is necessary. We need to work together towards having more voices in our government, better collaboration between elected officials and more diversity.
- Advocate for more voices in government through election reform.
- Empower women to seek leadership roles and strengthen social programs that encourage the equality of women.
- Make culture a priority and improve the art industry with tax incentives that are internationally competitive.
- The environment should shape our economic policies in order to address climate change.
- Simplifying the immigration process for family members of Canadian citizens.
- Diminish the gap between rich and poor.

OPTICA and VIVA! Art Action present the Papineau All-Candidates Debate 2015. Less than two weeks before the 42nd General Election this artist-run centre and performance art biennial will provide Independent candidates and artists Chris Lloyd and Kim Waldron with a space within which to reimagine how we are governed.
By staging a political debate in the context of an art event, the artists hope to encourage a rethinking of the limitations of our democratic institutions and the range of possibilities created by doing this. There is potential for change through active engagement. The debate is open to other candidates from the Papineau riding and will be moderated.
